Devblog 7: Closed Beta

Welcome back to another inconsistently scheduled devblog! Today, I'm happy to announce that we've officially launched the closed beta and released the demo trailer. Let's talk about the things I've been doing recently to finish up the demo.
Firstly, we now have a new HUD and Window skin! You'll see the current characters in your party, their health, equipped nanos, and your current location.

Next up is new missions and a new fusion lair. These will be surprises for you to experience, so no spoilers :) With 8 missions available, the demo lasts about 40 minutes. The demo will publicly be released in July, when beta testing is over, and bugs are fixed. I've also completed City Point and Orchid Bay! This took quite a while, since I was focusing on other things in the meantime.

Also, I've finished some promotional stuff, with the help of Piyush for the art. There's a new banner teaser and also a larger variant made by Piyush. You might've also seen the demo trailer, which shows off some stuff that hasn't been seen yet.
Here's the episode 1 title, done by piyush of course. I really love how we captured the feel of the old 'Mother Of All Blowfish' promo.

Next, I'm gonna talk a bit about the secret loctation(s). Firstly we have debug land, which is just a place for test NPCs to hang out. You can also go back to Townsville Zoo from there, although it's still very unfinished. There's also a tiny bit of a location I'm sure a lot of you will remember. It can only be accessed from debug land, though. If you want to go to debug land, you'll have to figure out that part yourself. I've hidden it pretty well.


I was not expecting to start beta this soon, but with the quarantine, I've had loads of time to work on it. I look forward to hearing people's opinions on the game!
